Steeves & Rozema Restorative Care Programs are designed to
assist residents who have suffered a stroke or some loss
of functional ability in regaining independence through individualized
exercise programs and training in mobility aids.

Residents are assessed by the
Restorative Care staff, and invited to the appropriate exercise group based on their needs and their wishes. Group exercises include:
-
Maintenance Program
-
Strengthening Program
-
Stroke Group

Designed around each resident's
personal needs, the Ambulation Program teaches the proper use of ambulation
aids such as walkers, wheelchairs and canes. As the resident gains strength,
mobility is increased and the resident becomes more independent.

Individual exercises vary from
person to person, depending on each resident's personal situation. Custom
exercise programs are developed to improve:
-
Balance
-
Strength
-
Speech
-
Range of Motion
